The walls are starting to close in on President Joe Biden as impeachment inches closer and closer.
Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) spoke to Newsmax this week and said that she expects an impeachment inquiry into the president is “definitely on the table sometime this fall.”
“That gives us a little time to get the information, to get it out, to get coverage of it so that the American people can actually see the facts,” she said on the show “Newsline.”
She said that House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer has acknowledged that the mainstream media has been derelict in its duty to report on what is happening with the Biden family.
“They’re not showing these things that are happening in plain sight, whether it’s the explosive testimony that came out from the whistleblowers, the FBI informant, which corroborated all that from Sen. [Chuck] Grassley [R-Iowa] to all the information that’s now coming out, matching that up [with Hunter Biden’s] laptop,” she said.
She cited the president’s use of fake names when he was vice president, which is actually common for federal officials, as one reason to believe that “it’s obvious there’s a cover-up.”
“Joe Biden isn’t using pseudonyms for any reason other than to make sure that we have to continue to dive into the web, including the numerous suspicious activity reports and all those different bank accounts from all these different sources and entities to try to confuse everyone,” the representative said.
She said, “There’s a lot for the American people to see.”
“This is worse than Watergate. This is the president engaging in illegal conduct, bribery, money laundering, impeachable crimes, and covering it up, using the Department of Justice and a dirty cop, [Attorney General] Merrick Garland,” she said.
The representative also brushed aside former House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s announcement that she would be campaigning again to keep her spot in the House of Representatives.
“It doesn’t preclude her from later taking an appointment if she would become an ambassador or some other position that the president would give her,” the representative said.
“I think it’s just to make sure that she’s got that slot available because guess what if she does get appointed? There’s a special election, and her daughter or someone of her choosing would be the front-runner to be in that special election. So, I don’t really think this is that big a news deal,” she said.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s tenuous hold on his position could become even more tenuous over a potential battle with conservatives regarding an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
Rep. Matt Gaetz made it clear on Tuesday that the California Republican could be fired if he doesn’t move forward with a vote to launch the inquiry after a number of House committees have uncovered what they claim is ample evidence of nefarious activities, including alleged bribery when he was vice president.
On social media and during a radio interview, Gaetz suggested that McCarthy could face removal for resisting the impeachment push.
“I worked very hard in January to develop a toolkit for House Republicans to use in a productive and positive way,” Gaetz wrote on Truth Social. “I don’t believe we’ve used those tools as effectively as we should have.
“We’ve got to seize the initiative,” he noted further. “That means forcing votes on impeachment. And if @SpeakerMcCarthy stands in our way, he may not have the job long.”
In an interview with talk radio host Todd Starnes, Gaetz noted that Americans he has talked to around the country are “disillusioned with House Republicans right now.”
“They think that we have not put up a substantial battle to defeat the worst elements of this Biden administration,” he added.
