CNN reported the lowest profit level since 2016 and the lowest ratings in the key 25-54 year-old demographic since 1992.

The network has attempted to stem the exodus from the network by reshuffling talent. Network executives fired Chris Cuomo in December 2021, Don Lemon and Brian Stelter in 2022, and President Chris Licht two months ago.

In the latest reshuffle announcement, Abby Phillip is set to take over the 10:00 p.m. slot. Meanwhile, Laura Coates has been assigned the 11:00 p.m. slot and Kaitlan Collins is now scheduled to host her show at 9:00 p.m.

The morning segment “CNN This Morning” will now be co-hosted by Phil Mattingly and Poppy Harlow. Kasie Hunt, a notable figure at the network, will take the reins of “Early Start.”

According to the CNN announcement: Pamela Brown will anchor the 3:00 p.m. weekday slot, Victor Blackwell will anchor the 8:00 a.m. Saturday show, Chris Wallace will host a show at 10:00 a.m., and Christiane Amanmour will host a show at 11:00 a.m.

The New York Times reported these changes are intended to stabilize the company, revive viewership, improve on-air diversity, and increase profitability.

As CNN navigates its way through these challenges, viewers and industry insiders alike will be closely monitoring the network’s performance in the coming months.
