Hunter Biden is scheduled to appear in court for the first time in Delaware on Wednesday morning, where he is anticipated to enter a plea to misdemeanor tax charges related to the lengthy federal investigation into his tax affairs.

At 10:00 a.m., President Joe Biden’s son is scheduled to appear before Judge Maryellen Noreika and will enter a guilty plea to two counts of willful failure to pay federal income tax, which are misdemeanors.

“Despite owing in excess of $100,000 in federal income taxes each year, he did not pay the income tax due for either year,” the U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware David C. Weiss’ office said upon announcing the charges last month. “According to the firearm Information, from on or about October 12, 2018 through October 23, 2018, Hunter Biden possessed a firearm despite knowing he was an unlawful user of and addicted to a controlled substance.”

Hunter Biden could be sentenced to a maximum of two years in prison, according to Weiss’ office, if found guilty of each tax charge.

He consented to a pretrial diversion program in exchange for the firearm charge, which carries a potential 10-year prison sentence.

Such programs according to the DOJ website, “divert certain offenders from traditional criminal justice processing into alternative systems of supervision and service” such as mental health or substance abuse treatment. Those who successfully complete diversion programs, the DOJ says, can see a “declination of charges, dismissal or reduction of charges, or a more favorable recommendation at sentencing.”

“A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors,” Weiss’ office said.

“The investigation is ongoing,” the office said in a statement last month.

“Hunter Biden will also enter into a pretrial diversion agreement regarding a separate felony charge of possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance. The plea deal, which has faced ire from Republicans and opponents of the president, is likely to keep Hunter Biden out of jail,” Fox News reported

ABC’s “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg went ballistic during a segment on the show over Hunter Biden’s laptop, demanding that people “shut up” about it.

“The other thing for me is, listen, if you get investigated, if they’re doing an investigation, I’m all for it. Investigate everything, everybody, everything. But if you took five years and this is what you came up with, I’m going to assume you didn’t find very much more about, that was chargeable,” she said, adding, “That damn laptop.”

“I’m sick of hearing about that laptop. This laptop, I hope it just crumbles to death, I hate it so much,” she continued.

Co-host Sunny Hostin was sympathetic to the disturbing material on the laptop and tried to provide cover for President Joe Biden’s son.

“We know he had this terrible addiction problem. That’s why he got the diversion program for the gun charge. The laptop, unfortunately, there are pictures of him nude, there are pictures of him with women and doing drugs and with guns,” Hostin said.

Goldberg jumped back in and demanded Republicans “shut up” about the laptop.

“This is what I want. I want them to shut up about it then. Go after him – it’s not going to stop y’all from going after Biden… We know you’re going to keep looking because you’re lookers. You look away when you see something that’s actually worth seeing, but you want to look for something not really there. I want you all to do your damnedest to get all the stuff you need to try to get because that’s what we did… If you can find something, then show the nation, but stop holding up BS stuff when there’s nothing there,” she said, comparing the situation to former President Donald Trump.
