Previously, Republican lawmakers have indicated that “the Big Guy” is Joe Biden. Also, a former business partner of the Bidens — Tony Bobulinski — has also ID’ed the president as “the big guy.”
Meanwhile, Wall Street Journal Columnist Kimberley Strassel told Roberts the report was “very detailed.”
“And I think it is incumbent on the FBI to at least explain what steps were taken to either verify or debunk it,” she said.
Some liberal media outlets like Mediaite noted that the FBI says information in FD-1023s can include “raw, unverified reporting from confidential human sources.”
But the whistleblower who has reportedly provided Republicans with evidence alleging Joe Biden was involved in corrupt ‘pay-for-play’ schemes as vice president has been frequently used by the FBI since the Obama administration and is deemed to be “highly credible” by the agency.
As first reported by Fox News, the individual has alleged that the former VP “was involved in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national” and is an “FBI confidential human source…used by the bureau in multiple investigative matters dating back to” Barack Obama’s two terms in office.
Fox News anchor John Roberts displayed a newly released FBI document pertaining to Joe and Hunter Biden, calling it “the big prize” as he discussed its implications on the first family and especially the president.
“Here it is. This is the big prize, right?” Roberts said Wednesday as he showed the form live on air. “This is form FD -1023 that everybody has been talking about recently. [Iowa GOP Sen.] Chuck Grassley‘s office released it a little while ago. I guess he said, look, this thing’s not classified — I’m gonna put it out there.”
He went on to note that the document’s contents and revelations were based on a “confidential human source.”
“Quote, They — and this is Burisma — hired Hunter Biden to, quote, protect us through his dad, from all kinds of problems…It costs $5 million to pay one Biden, and 5 million to another Biden. Confidential Human Source mentions Zlochevsky — this is Mykola Zlochevsky, who was the founder of Burisma — might have difficulty explaining suspicious wire transfers that may evidence any illicit payments to the Bidens. Zlochevsky responded he did not send any funds to The Big Guy,” Roberts said, quoting the document.
The outlet noted in early June that House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and Grassley were recently contacted by a whistleblower who made a claim that the FBI possessed an FD-1023 form dated June 30, 2020, that allegedly contained explicit information provided by a confidential human source.
According to the source, the document outlines allegations that during his time as vice president, Biden was involved in a criminal bribery scheme amounting to $5 million. The scheme purportedly involved a foreign national and aimed to secure influence over policy decisions, Fox News added.
Someone familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital on Friday that the confidential human source who provided the information regarding Biden to the FBI is a “pre-existing” FBI source who has been utilized in various investigations unrelated to the information concerning Biden.
The same source also told the outlet that the confidential human source has been used by the FBI for “at least several years” before the June 2020 FD-1023 form detailing the Biden allegations was even generated.
The person added that the confidential human source was “consistently reviewed by the FBI” and has always been “found to be highly credible” and also took part in several investigations undertaken during the Obama administration.
We know the FBI has very serious allegations against then-Vice President Biden. The question is, what did they do with it? Did they investigate the leads or sweep it under the rug?” said a spokesman for Grassley in an interview with Fox News.
“This is exactly why we need transparency into the document and what the FBI did with it? That’s what Sen. Grassley has sought from the start,” the spokesman added.
“We are not out to get the FBI. We’re out to change the culture of the FBI at headquarters,” Grassley said in a recent interview.
