New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is under heavy fire from many of her own supporters after she endorsed President Joe Biden’s 2024 bid for reelection.

During an interview on the far-left podcast Pod Save America, Ocasio-Cortez said she would be backing Biden rather than handing her support to longshot candidates, who include Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

When asked by host Jon Favreau, a former Obama administration official, whether she will “be supporting Joe Biden for reelection,” AOC responded: “I believe, given that field, yes.”

“I think he’s done quite well, given the limitations that we have. I do think that there are ebbs and flows as there are in any president, in any presidency. You know, I there are areas that I think were quite strong when he came right out of the gate with the American Rescue Plan,” she continued. “And, of course, the Inflation Reduction Act was a massive step in terms of our climate agenda.”

As noted by the Daily Mail, many supporters slammed AOC for endorsing Biden:

Briahna Joy Gray, a former senior staffer to Senator Bernie Sanders wrote: “Endorsing Joe Biden now is a betrayal of progressive interests. It was true of Bernie Sanders’ endorsement & its true of AOC. *Most* Democrats don’t want Biden to run. Bernie and AOC are tragically out of step w/ the movement & the moment.”

One account with a series of progressive hashtags in its bio wrote: “AOC endorsing Biden is exactly wat I saw coming. Nothing about this is surprising. She’s a con & a fraud who lied her way to DC. It’s a shame that so called Leftists still support this tool. Anyone Leftist still supporting anyone in the Dem party is deeply unserious.”

Another account, called Neoliberal Tears, wrote: ‘The Left isn’t nearly as nasty to AOC as it needs to be. Endorsing a war criminal the day he sent more cluster bombs to a war zone needs to make it really clear she’s a psychopath, as well as anyone who defends her.’

‘Absolute loser AOC thinks Biden has done a good job,’ wrote another user. ‘This is why electoral politics is a dead end. When leaders like AOC signal to the world that Biden is doing well, it harms the left.’

President Biden’s job approval ratings have been steadily falling

in the wake of his announcement that he would seek another term, making his re-election path even narrower.

A new poll from DailyMail.com/J.L. Partners showed that 71 percent of Americans, including 49 percent of Democrats, believe Biden is too old to continue to be president. The poll also showed that 52 percent of Americans believe they are in a worse position now than they were before Biden became president.

“There are few things that unite American voters, but there is one: the belief that Biden is too old to be president,” James Johnson, one of the founders of J.L. Partners, said to the DailyMail.

“Decisive margins across all age groups, ethnic groups, and political parties agree with the sentiment. And worryingly for the current president, those most likely to say they are worse off under Biden’s policies include groups with disproportionate impact come to an election: Independent voters and 45-64-year-olds. Though he managed to avoid his age becoming a pivotal issue in 2020, it looks set to be the defining hesitation in voters’ minds next year,” Johnson said.

Another political insider has expressed the increasingly popular view that the aging Biden will not be physically or mentally capable of finishing his current term, much less a second one, should he win reelection next year.

Tudor Dixon, the GOP nominee who lost a tight race to incumbent Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer last fall, told “Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla” that members of the president’s party are circling him “like vultures” because they see his political career coming to an “end” soon.

“It’s like vultures. I really think that. I was talking about this the other day. I said it’s sort of like vultures circling him, like they know that it’s close to the end. What end? I’m not sure. Is it just the end of the presidency? Is it the end of something more? I don’t know what they think, but it really feels as though we’re being duped,” she told Failla.
